Here is a very nice Feature Video on the BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151), the second Jose Rizal class Frigate of the Philippine Navy (PN) by the Department of National Defense (DND). And it is in High Definition (HD) or 720p resolution so we can see clearly the features of the Ship.
On around the 3:20 mark of the Video though, we get a close look at the Mistral RC Surface to Air Missile (SAM) System, and on one of the Canisters containing the Missile we can see the word “INERT”.
So this likely means that the Mistral Missile Canisters on the BRP Luna are inert for now. Not sure if they have some live Mistral rounds on board, but the delivery date for the ones the Government bought is by October 2021.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) says that 40 Mistral SAMs have been bought by the Philippines, or equal to 20 per Jose Rizal class Frigates.
